What is real vs fake - April 1st, 2011

I hate April Fool’s Day.  I have a hard enough time seeing through bullshit every other day of the year. Here are my gripes:

  1. My day started off with a neighborhood pit bull attacking my little dog and his grease-head gorilla owner screaming at me before I had my coffee…Where is the joke in that?
  2. Then the 1 train skipped my stop so I ended up at Ground Zero and had to work my way back up the island - NYC Subway prank?
  3. By 11AM I gave up reading any news anywhere - the Internet SUCKS on April 1st.  I don’t see the fun in misinforming the slow masses.
  4. I spent 45 minutes trying to gain free loot on the AA site, only to terminate last minute because all my coworkers were adamant about it being an April Fool’s credit card scam.
  5. In my field of work, which relies heavily on people’s word (until the article actually goes to print) I have to keep worrying about if the arrangements that I am setting up will actually exist tomorrow.
  6. I feel like I’m in another dimension where Kid Cudi doesn’t smoke trees, Ford Models signs people based off their Twitter avatar pics, Hulu looks like a ‘99 site, and EVERY other girl on my Facebook is trying to trick all her friends by announcing her engagement with grainy, photoshopped pictures of Zales engagement rings. Who proposes on April Fool’s Day? NO ONE!
